Nutrition and Cardiometabolic Health

The Nutrition and Cardiometabolic Health special collection aims to advance our understanding of how dietary patterns, macronutrient composition, micronutrient intake, and dietary supplements influence cardiometabolic risk factors. We welcome submissions that delve into various aspects of the relationship between nutrition and cardiometabolic health, including dietary patterns, macronutrient composition, micronutrient intake, and dietary supplements, with a focus on their impact on cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, and related conditions.

Study Objective

The study evaluates the structures, outcomes, and potential for broader implementation of these programs, highlighting the role of continuous support, personalised interventions, and comprehensive education in achieving sustainable and safe diabetes care.

Short Abstract

This case study explores two diabetes reversal programs utilising low-carbohydrate diets to manage and potentially reverse Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM). The first program is a 12-month virtual GP/coach-led initiative, while the second is a 9-month very low-carbohydrate face-to-face group program. Both programs aim to improve diabetic control, reduce weight, improve lipid profiles, lower blood pressure, and enhance overall patient well-being. The study evaluates the structures, outcomes, and potential for broader implementation of these programs, highlighting the role of continuous support, personalised interventions, and comprehensive education in achieving sustainable and safe diabetes care.
